When overtaking the rider of a bicycle, a driver must:
Provide a minimum lateral distance of 1 metre when overtaking a bicycle rider in speed zones at or below 60km/h and 1.5 metres in speed zones above 60km/h;
Sound your horn to let a bicycle rider know that you are behind them and intend to overtake; or
Increase your speed to quickly pass the bicycle rider
